Q: How do I register for adult learning programs?

A: You only need to register for fee-based programs. As you'll see, many of our classes are free. For these courses, just show up!

* We cosponsor our adult Hebrew classes, Building Blocks of Judaism, and several other courses with Lehrhaus Judaica. To register for these classes online, visit http://www.lehrhaus.org/. Or, phone them at (510) 845-6420.

* To register for all classes not cosponsored by Lehrhaus Judaica, please contact Rabbi Sarah Wolf at rabbi_wolf@betham.org or (650) 493-4661.

* To register for Shabbaton, contact the education office at 650-493-4665.

Q: Do I have to be a member of Beth Am to participate?

A: Almost all of our adult learning is open to the entire community (much of it free of charge). Some courses have slightly different fees for members and non-members. A few of our programs are open only to Beth Am members (e.g., Shabbaton).

Q: Why are there fees for classes at all?

A: Fees are generally assessed to pay for outside teachers, food, and supplies (books, etc.).

Q: Do I have to have children enrolled at Beth Am to participate in any of the courses?

A: Shabbaton is the only program that is specifically for families with children in our youth education programs.

Q: What if I don't know what Hebrew level I should enroll in?

A: Contact Rabbi Sarah Wolf and she'll help you get into the right section.
