Registration Information & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: How do I register for adult learning programs? A: You only need to register for fee-based programs. As you'll see, many of our classes are free. For these courses, just show up! *To register for Toledot, cooking classes, or Hanukat Hanefesh, contact Jessica Rosenberg (jrosenberg@betham.org; 650-493-4665). * To register for Asilomar contact Linda King (lking@betham.org, 650-493-4661). * We cosponsor our Adult Hebrew Classes, Chai School, and Building Blocks of Judaism with Lehrhaus Judaica. To register for these classes online, visit http://www.lehrhaus.org/. Or, phone them at (510) 845-6420.
Q: Do I have to be a member to participate? A: Almost all of our adult learning is open to the entire community (much of it free of charge). Other courses have slightly different fees for members and non-members. A few of our programs are open only to Beth Am members (Toledot, Shabbaton, the Chavruta Project, and Tzavta). Q: Why are there fees for classes at all? A: Fees are generally assessed to pay for outside teachers, food, and supplies (books, etc.). Q: Do I have to have children enrolled at Beth Am to participate in any of the courses? A: Shabbaton and Tzavta are the only classes that are specifically for families with children in our youth education programs. TOLEDOT IS OPEN TO ALL BETH AM CONGREGANTS! Q: What if I don't know what Hebrew level I should enroll in? A: Contact Rabbi Josh Zweiback and he'll help you get into the right section. Any other questions? Contact Rabbi Zweiback or Jessica Rosenberg (jrosenberg@betham.org).
Our program is made possible by the work and guidance of our Adult Learning Council.
