Small Groups

Small Groups

are about building face to face connections in a digital age, slowing down in a time of speeding up and discovering unique gifts in a world often defined by anonymity, conformity, and disposability. Some Small Groups will be geographic in nature, others will connect around common interests, affinities and commitments to Jewish learning and living. All Small Groups will provide opportunities for Jewish growth and exploration, and will function on the principle that when we create meaningful relationships within the congregation, members can serve others and be served, celebrate and be celebrated in both the large and small gatherings of temple life.

Small Groups will help Beth Am realize this future of a connected, committed membership and will:

  • Focus on the lives and significant concerns of our members
  • Organize around shared interests, life stages and geographies
  • Feature shared experiences, learning and celebration
  • Create a space in which people feel safe to be who they truly are
  • Be self-led by trained lay facilitators

Small Groups offer a simple yet radical idea: to bring our members together to know and be known, learn and laugh, rest and rejuvenate, deepen connections with one another and Beth Am, and to experience the rhythms of Jewish life.
