Our tzedakah box donations will provide assistance to victims of the deadly tornado in Oklahoma through the URJ's General Relief Disaster Fund. The Union for Reform Judaism will allocate funding received to agencies on the ground that are best equipped to respond to this disaster. In addition, the URJ is working closely with congregations in the affected region to assure the safety of their congregants, their neighbors, and their structures and to determine next steps in relief work.
Judaism commands us to give to those who are in need. At Congregation Beth Am, we strive to fulfill that mitzvah. Each month, funds are collected through the Tzedakah Box Project to go to a charitable cause that serves the needy.Read more
The cause rotates each month between a local organization and one in Israel, or occasionally to an organization that supports recovery from a natural or man-made disaster elsewhere in the world. If you’d like to propose an organization to receive funding through the Tzedakah Box Project, please contact Rabbi Janet Marder. Close
