Hagigah, for 2nd–5th graders, is a theater program that meets weekly during the school year, on Wednesday afternoons, 4 - 6 p.m. Through the production of an original fall play and spring musical, participants explore a major Jewish learning theme. Past themes have included Tzedek (justice), American Jewish History, and Jewish values. The theme for 2013-14 was Bible stories about “Jewish Superheroes,” and the shows focused on Rebecca, Isaac, Jacob, Esau, Moses and Miriam.
This popular program is a full-fledged Judaica program like Sunday Program, Connections, and Camp Beth Am.
The Hagigah teachers create an inclusive, supportive environment where every child gets to express his or her creativity, and everyone gets a part in the shows. Come learn Judaism through theater!
Note: This program requires extra rehearsal hours, parent involvement and a supplemental tuition charge of $140. Performances are scheduled are in mid-December and early May, on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
