Beth Am Women

BETH AM WOMEN (BAW), the women's organization of Congregation Beth Am, performs many valuable functions for the Congregation. Also known as Sisterhood, BAW is dedicated to providing financial support to Beth Am and the greater community, both locally and globally as well as providing opportunities for women to get together and have fun, to learn, and to make new friends. All of our events are planned with these goals in mind. Beth Am membership is open to all the women of Beth Am.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES
These are just some of the ways in which Beth Am Women supports the congregation and larger Jewish community:
  • Support for Beth Am educational programs
  • Support for BAJY and BATY (our junior and senior youth groups)
  • Support for Emigre Council
  • Purchase Kiddush cups for b'nai mitzvahs
  • Purchase Tanakhs for confirmands
  • Provide scholarships for those attending Women of Reform Judaism events
  • Jewish Braille Institute
  • World Union for Progressive Judaism
  • Y.E.S. Fund
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BE INVOLVED?
This is Your Community! Regardless of the obvious differences among us, we are all WOMEN -- we start out with this commonality. If you have never really thought about what being an active participant in Beth Am Women could do for you, think about how nice it could be to know more people and feel more comfortable, at the same time supporting hugely worthwhile projects. We have ongoing events, special events, mitzvah opportunities, educational opportunities, social events. Once in a while we might even volunteer to bake!! We are all ages, in all stages of life, and each with our own unique mishegas, AND we are here for each other.
Give it a chance -- bite the bullet and come to an event -- you won't be left out!

The Book Group meets at 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month (generally) at the home of a member. For general information, call Barbara Stevens at (650) 328.2560.

The Bridge Group meets at 7:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month at members' homes. The group is informal and a great way to make new friends and dust the cobwebs from your bridge game. All levels of experience are welcome.Contact: TBA
