Kivunim High School Program

There are many pathways to being Jewish at Beth Am!

Goals: Kivunim will:

Provide a range of learning options

Integrate classroom learning with informal social opportunities

Enable student-directed learning

Connect teens with Beth Am staff and clergy

Overview

3-4 courses will be offered each semester.

Kivunim will be held on Sundays and Friday nights
Confirmation class will meet during Kivunim Sunday sessions
Rabbi Sarah will teach a special course for 11^th – 12^th graders

Courses will be taught by Beth Am clergy and educators

Program Structure

Sunday Afternoons

11:30 – 12 Optional Lunch

12 – 12:15 Advisory Session

12:20 – 1:15 Class

1:15 – 1:30 Siyum

Friday Nights

Kivunim meets one Friday night a month for Shabbat Dinner and a special program

Confirmation

Confirmation will meet during Kivunim and will be co-taught by Rabbis Adam Rosenwasser & Janet Marder.

· The Confirmation Program will culminate on Saturday, May 14 at 5 p.m. in the evening.

Graduation

Any student can participate in the special graduation program by continuing to be involved in any part of the Jewish community . You do not need to be confirmed in order to graduate.

Next year’s graduation service is on Friday, May 6, 2011.
