Welcome to Confirmation!

This year our class will explore how to live a life of joy and meaning in today’s complicated world. Enriched by Jewish tradition and supported by a strong community, we’ll engage in active learning, including text study, debate and discussion, guest speakers, drama, music and film.

Here are some of the issues we’ll examine through a Jewish lens:

• Building and strengthening friendships; communication skills
  
• Healthy and abusive relationships
  
• Healthy sexuality
  
• Addictive behaviors; managing stress and life challenges in positive ways
  
• Difficult personal choices, including abortion
  
• Finding a positive connection to Israel
  
• Exploring personal spirituality
  

Here are some important dates to put on your calendar:

• Friday night, November 13 — Confirmation Shabbat dinner following 6:15pm service
  
• Friday night, December 4 — Confirmation Shabbat dinner following 6:15pm service
  
• Sunday, December 6, 11:45 - 1:30 — First meeting of Confirmation class
  Class continues on Sundays: December 13, January 10, January 24, January 31, February 21
• February 5 — Confirmation Shabbat dinner following 6:15 service
• March 3, 6:30 (optional dinner at 6) — First Wednesday night class
  Class continues on Wednesdays: March 10, March 17, March 24, April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12
  
• March 26-27 — Shul-In and Adventure Day in San Francisco
• Friday evening, May 14 — Shabbat service, followed by dinner and Consecration
• Saturday evening, May 15 — Confirmation!
