Rosh Chodesh Iyar -- Let Me Hear Your Voice: Israeli Poems of Protest

With Rabbi Janet Marder

In honor of Yom Ha Zikaron (Israel's Memorial Day) and Yom Ha-Atzma'ut (Israel's Independence Day), Rabbi Marder will lead us in reading and discussing some of the most compelling Israeli poetic works of our time.

In the Jewish State, poetry has long served as a powerful medium for expressing cultural criticism and dissent. Israel's contemporary poets, many of them women, continue the prophetic tradition of challenging authority, giving voice to the oppressed, and speaking out against injustice. No experience with poetry required! All poems will be presented in Hebrew and English.

To RSVP or for more information, contact Lisa at (408) 448-4972.

Rosh Chodesh is a program of Beth Am Women.
