Asking the Tough Questions
Beth Am welcomes guest speaker Brigadier General (Res.) Nitzan Nuriel, a research fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism at IDC Herzliya and Former Director of Israel's Counter Terrorism Bureau. He previously served as a commander in the West Bank, deputy commander of the IDF’s Gaza Strip division and in a key role within the Northern Command responsible for Israel’s borders with Syria and Lebanon. In 2015, General Nuriel was awarded the Legion of Merit for his work as a liaison between the IDF and US forces. In that capacity he was responsible for building the cooperative counter-terrorism partnership between Israel and the U.S. General Nuriel’s recent writings have focused on the Golan Heights border security challenge from both a humanitarian and practical perspective.
