Responding to the Tragedy in Pittsburgh

In the days since the tragic events at the Tree of Life Congregation last Shabbat, our community has come together in strength and support. Below are some responses and resources our clergy and program team would like to share.

A video recording of this past Sunday's Community Gathering of Solidarity and Peace is now available to view.

The day after the tragic events at Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh, we convened a congregation-wide meeting with Beth Am President Bruce Ives, Rabbi Marder and Executive Director Rachel Tasch to discuss security procedures at Beth Am. For those who could not attend that meeting, or have further questions, please contact our Executive Director Rachel Tasch or President Bruce Ives with your comments.

Support Those Directly Affected by the Shooting
Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh has created the Our Victims of Terror Fund which will provide psychological services, support for families, reconstruction, additional security throughout the community, assistance for payment of medical bills for all those involved, as well as counseling and other services that may prove necessary in the future.
