The Very Best Way to Make a Legacy Gift
Thinking of planning a legacy gift but not sure how to do it? Naming Beth Am as a partial beneficiary of a retirement account is easy and may afford tax advantages.
To help ensure that the array of Beth Am education, worship and community opportunities are available for the generations that will come after us, Beth Am encourages our members of all ages to consider preparing a legacy gift to Beth Am. Legacy gifts come in all shapes and sizes, not just five or six figures! One of the easiest ways to give is naming Beth Am as a partial beneficiary of a retirement account (IRA, 401k, 403b). Simply complete a beneficiary designation form provided by your retirement account custodian; keep one on file with your personal documents, one with your attorney and one with our office. You may also adjust this gift at any time, just as easily – without changing your estate plan documents.
For some donors, retirement account funds will be subject to both the estate tax and income taxes for their heirs, making it an excellent giving vehicle. Most of all, you will feel satisfied that you are leaving a legacy for a community you love!
