Community | Congregation Beth Am

supports the vision of Congregation Beth Am to create a warm, vibrant and inclusive Reform Jewish community in which members feel strongly connected to Beth Am and participate actively in the life of the congregation. In particular, INCLUDE Beth Am aims to build the capacity of Congregation Beth Am's educational, religious and community programming to welcome, embrace and include children and young adults with special needs and their families.

INCLUDE Beth Am is part of Jewish LearningWorks Bay Area-wide effort to create a culture of inclusion in local Jewish institutions. The initiative coincides with the URJ’s focus on supporting inclusion throughout Reform congregations.

Beth Am wants to know if you or someone close to you is experiencing ongoing and life-changing challenges, including learning differences, diet restrictions (such as diabetes and food allergies), sensory and physical limitations, or other issues that make it difficult to participate fully at Beth Am. INCLUDE Beth Am invites you to share your story and to help Beth Am identify issues of concern, educate congregants about these issues and enable families with special needs to connect and thrive at Beth Am. Your personal story will contribute valuable insights and concrete examples, enabling Beth Am to provide meaningful resources and support.
