Beth Am Women Rosh Chodesh Sivan
Wednesday, May 12, 2021 • 1 Sivan 5781
7:30 PM - 9:15 PMZoom Videoconference (RSVP for access details)Sivan is the month of one-ness. We have come through the narrow places and have prepared ourselves to accept the Torah, to become one with ourselves and our God. Sivan is the month of Covenant. The holiday of Shavuot, celebrating the giving of the Torah, falls on the 6th and 7th of Sivan. The symbols of Shavuot are the Seven Species— the first fruits, all native to the Land of Israel—brought as offerings to the Temple at harvest time: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives (olive oil) and dates (date honey). During our session, we will study these bikkurim — offerings — and discover their unique attributes, imagine them with all our senses and learn their stories — why they were specifically selected to be the special bikkurim offerings which might "bring glory to the Land of Israel."
All women are welcome.
