12:00 PM - 1:30 PMZoom VideoconferenceThis Month's Topic: Conscience & The Court
In this session, we will learn about an important case currently under consideration by the U.S. Supreme Court. Carson v. Makin raises issues with significant implications for Jewish schools. Together, we will look at what is at stake, consider highlights from a "friend of the court" brief submitted to provide the justices with a traditional Jewish perspective, and explore the role of religious schools in the American public arena. All are welcome to start the new year by joining in a discussion of this timely topic and how interpretation of constitutional concepts related to religion could be changing.
Join in this lunchtime series that explores topics at the intersection of philosophy, Jewish thought and contemporary issues. This is an interactive lunchtime discussion. All are welcome. For more information, please contact Shelley Hebert.
