12:00 PM - 1:30 PMZoom VideoconferenceWhen the Jokes Aren't Funny: The True Story of a Stereotype
In this session, participants will explore the true story of what happened when one determined Jewish woman decided to take on a derogatory stereotype that was rapidly spreading within and beyond the Jewish community. Through actual interviews, media coverage, op-eds and more, we will see how and why minds were changed. Together, we will consider why stereotypes matter, the relevance of this case study today and how to recognize our own biases towards others.
Join in this lunchtime series that explores topics at the intersection of philosophy, Jewish thought and contemporary issues. This is an interactive lunchtime discussion. For more information, please contact Shelley.
