The 7 Species: The Gifts We Bring for Shavuot

Sivan is the month of Oneness, Covenant and Shavuot — the celebration of the giving of Torah. Sivan is a month of parallels, its sign Gemeni — the twins. Sivan is the month of counting the Omer and the harvest, of blintzes and apples — the smell and taste of Torah. Sivan is the month of Offerings, specifically the 7 Species — the first fruits brought to the Temple at harvest time. Come find out more about the qualities of these First Fruits, and what they can teach us about ourselves, our own gratitude practices and why they were specifically chosen as worthy of offering.
