April Tzedakah Box Supports My New Red Shoes

Since 2006, My New Red Shoes has provided more than 65,000 children in the SF Bay Area with new shoes, new clothing, and a boost of self-confidence.

This month our tzedakah contributions will benefit My New Red Shoes, serving homeless and low-income children ages 5-18 throughout the Bay Area.  For most Bay Area kids the first day of school means a chance to show off a brand new back-to-school outfit, new jeans, new shoes and maybe a new backpack. But for homeless and very low-income children it’s a very different kind of feeling. Many of these children have never owned anything new. Often they do not attend school regularly because of the shame of not having enough clothing. My New Red Shoes partners with community agencies for referrals throughout the school year, providing needy students with new shoes and new clothing to improve their school attendance, self-esteem, educational experience and quality of life.

Since 2006, My New Red Shoes has helped to close the clothing, confidence and opportunity gap for more than 62,000 students living in poverty in the San Francisco Bay Area by providing them with the basic necessities of new shoes and new clothing. Please give generously to help all our children start school feeling better about themselves and their ability to fit in with their peers.
