January Tzedakah Box Supports Silicon for Society

Helping Diminish the Achievement Gap for Needy Students by Providing Tech Tools

Our January Tzedakah Box collection will support Silicon for Society, a nonprofit launched nine years ago by two sophomores at Los Altos High School, one of whom was Beth Am member Tyler Stout. Today, Beth Am 12th grader Ben Rubin serves as president of the organization.

Silicon for Society collects new and used computers, as well as financial contributions from companies and individuals, to donate to underprivileged students and their parents. They also provide many hours of computer training to students and families who receive computers, enabling them to make full use of the technology.

Your generous donations will help diminish the achievement gap for needy students, empowering them with the technology, skills and support to help them succeed in school and beyond.

To make an online donation, visit the Beth Am donation page and click on "Tzedakah Box" from the list of funds. Or, your donations may be placed in any of the tzedakah boxes on the Beth Am campus (in the Sanctuary foyer, Beit Kehillah or Administrative Office). If you prefer to make your donation by check, please make it payable to Congregation Beth Am and mail to: Congregation Beth Am, Attn: Tzedakah Box – Silicon for Society, 26790 Arastradero Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022. Thank you for your support.
