A Jewish Approach to Ecological Balance

A Lecture by Rabbi Yonatan Neril, Founder and Director of The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development

How can Jewish teachings catalyze a transition to a sustainable, thriving and spiritually-aware society? At this key moment in history, how can religious wisdom be brought to bear to enable our children to inherit a livable planet?

Rabbi Yonatan Neril founded and directs The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development (ICSD)  and its Jewish Eco Seminars (jewishecoseminars.com) branch. ICSD reveals the connection between religion and ecology and mobilizes faith communities to act. Yonatan speaks internationally on religion and ecology, and co-organized ten interfaith environmental conferences in Jerusalem and the U.S., including the California Symposium on Ecologically Informed Theological Education. He completed an M.A. and B.A. at Stanford, and grew up in the East Bay. He lives with his wife, Shana, and two children in Jerusalem.
