Havdalah Launch of Bay Area Friendship Circle's Young Adults Circle
Through the Bay Area Friendship Circle's Young Adults Circle, participants with special needs are paired with young adult volunteers who provide them with friendship, support and mentorship during their transition years. Young adult participants gain leadership and social skills by having the opportunity to create their own activities with the support of their peers. The Young Adults Circle also gives the participants an opportunity to learn living skills that foster independence. The Young Adult's Circle is run by a therapist, as well as a board of Friendship Circle young adult participants and young adult volunteers.
Bay Area Friendship Circle is collaborating with Congregation Beth Am and Congregation Kol Emeth for the first Young Adult Circle event, a Havdalah with beautiful music (led by Rabbi Heath Watenmaker of Beth Am), food, hands-on activities and a chance to get to know peers.
Registration is required; please register online.
If you would like to be a volunteer for the Young Adult Circle Havdalah, please register online to attend a training on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:30 PM in the Beit Kehillah.
