Phishing Alert

There continue to be phishing scams circulated to various synagogue communities around the country. It consists of an email, ostensibly from the senior Rabbi or another clergy member or layleader, and asks for immediate assistance. Often the grammar and spelling is incorrect and the email address will be one that looks legitimate.

These emails are not really from Congregation Beth Am. Please do not respond to them.

If you receive one, please forward it to info@betham.org so that it can then be sent to people who are working to combat these schemes on a national level. The perpetrators are hoping recipients can be persuaded to send funds to a fraudulent account.

If you have any doubt about an email, please check to make sure it comes from @betham.org.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Congregation Beth Am and your vigilance. Want to read more about how to recognize phishing scams?
