ROSH HASHANAH High Holy Days 2020 | 5781: September 18-19

Though we may be celebrating virtually this year, Beth Am offers opportunities for us to come together in observance of the New Year. It is a day to celebrate our creation, but also a day of accounting and judgment for our actions. On Rosh Hashanah, we review choices we've made over the past year, our actions and our intentions, as we attempt to honestly evaluate ourselves. Beth Am offers opportunities for us to come together (virtually) in preparation for the New Year:

Livestreamed Rosh Hashanah Services
Beth Am members receive free access to the live stream and do not need to register (order tickets). You will receive the special High Holy Day streaming link by email. There is no passcode required, just the link for members to click on. We welcome non-members to join us for services. To request access to High Holy Day services for non-members, please complete and submit the online registration form. (Learn more about livestreaming on our FAQs page.)

Tashlikh
Saturday, September 19:
While  gathering as a community is not advisable, everyone is encouraged to observe Tashlikh in a way that is personally meaningful. Here's a printable Beth Am Taschlikh guide to lead you through the ceremony.

Stand Before the Ark at Beth Am
Sunday, September 20 through Friday, September 25
We are opening our beautiful Sanctuary to our community to visit, while we are not able to celebrate the High Holy Days in person as a congregation together in our sacred space. Member households are invited to sign up for a 20-minute slot to come to Beth Am and visit the Sanctuary in person the week between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Learn more.

Shabbat Shuvah
Friday, September 25, 6:15 PM: Join online at betham.org/streaming for our Shabbat Shuvah service. At the conclusion of the service we will (virtually) dedicate the memorial plaques that have been added to the Memorial Wall since our 2019 Shabbat Shuvah service.

High Holy Day Food Drive
Our food drive benefits Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) as well as Second Harvest of Silicon Valley food bank. Learn more and watch the BATY HHD Food Drive promo video at betham.org/feed-the-hungry.

Youth High Holy Day Programming
