Sh'ma Groups

Sh'ma Groups offer a simple yet radical idea: to bring our members together to know and be known, learn and laugh, rest and rejuvenate, deepen connections with one another and Beth Am, and to experience the rhythms of Jewish life.

Sh'ma Groups are small, focused, peer/member-led groups, in which 8-15 Beth Am congregants come together around a shared interest. They meet on a regular basis to create deeper relationships through meaningful, structured conversations in member homes.

An open group listing of groups that are welcoming new members is now available online. Sh’ma Groups are about building face-to-face connections in a digital age, slowing down in a time of speeding up and discovering unique gifts in a world often defined by anonymity, conformity and disposability. Some Sh’ma Groups will be geographic in nature, others will connect around common interests, affinities and/or commitments to Jewish learning and living. All Sh'ma Groups will provide opportunities for Jewish growth and exploration, and will function on the principle that when we create meaningful relationships within the congregation.
