Erev Shabbat Service: Beth Am Welcomes Rabbi Mark Borovitz of Beit T’Shuvah

Speaking on “Embracing Imperfection”

We're honored to welcome Rabbi Mark Borovitz, Senior Rabbi and CEO of Beit T'Shuvah, a Jewish faith-based, non-sectarian residential addiction treatment center in Los Angeles. At our Erev Shabbat service, Rabbi Borovitz will speak about “Embracing Imperfection.” Many of us struggle with a desire to be perfect, and we experience shame and guilt when we fall short. How can Jewish tradition help us release shame and blame, and help us recover from our inevitable stumbles along the path of life?

Following his presentation at the Shabbat service, Rabbi Borovitz will join us for dinner and discussion in the Social Hall. Dinner reservations and payment are required by Monday, January 27. Dinner cost is $20. You can make your reservation and payment in one of two ways:

  1. Complete the online signup form
  2. Download and print the downloadable sign-up form (also available in the Beth Am office). Complete the form, make check payable to “Congregation Beth Am” and return to the Beth Am office
  3. Call the Beth Am office at (650) 493-4661.

This program is presented by Netivot -- Pathways, which provides support, information and a safe environment for Beth Am members and their families who are struggling with alcoholism or addiction of any kind.

*This service will be live video streamed. By entering the Sanctuary, you give Beth Am permission to record you.
