STREAM ONLINE: Focus on Inclusion Month Erev Shabbat Service

Friday, February 26, 2021 14 Adar 5781

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMbetham.org/streaming

In conjunction with Jewish Disabilities Awareness, Acceptance and Inclusion Month, during the service we will screen the short film, House of Healing.

How can the Jewish community address the needs of families and their loved ones who cope with mental illness? House of Healing demonstrates that when congregations open their hearts to the needs of families, stigma is dispelled and healing connections flourish. Our short film tells the story of one brave Beth Am congregant, Jane Marcus (z”l), who, along with Carol Irwin and other families, pioneered mental health awareness at Beth Am. They created Beit R’fuah (“House of Healing”), an inclusive group of those coping with mental illness and their families, who come together to share their challenges and joys, being with one another as they open their hearts to hear one another. We are proud to celebrate 15 years of work and success.

Each week, please join a livestream of our Friday night service. We encourage you to watch from home at betham.org/streaming or on our YouTube channel or on the Beth Am Facebook page, starting at 6:15 PM. If you miss the 6:15 PM livestream (or a later time works better for you), a simulated broadcast of the service will repeat at 8:00 PM on betham.org/streaming.

You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the online version or the downloadable pdf of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.
