Children, Families and Anxiety: A Jewish Lens

Sunday, February 6, 2022 5 Adar I 5782

7:30 PM - 9:00 PMZoom

There has been a huge increase in anxiety in elementary school children during the pandemic, and many families struggle to know how to help. We turn to Jewish themes and values to see where they enhance pediatric psychotherapeutic interventions. This session aims to tools participants with concrete ways to assess and assist symptoms of anxiety in children, and provide for an opportunity to reflect on how Jewish values and wisdom might help these issues.

Melissa Kelley, LMFT is Chair of the Beth Am Inclusion Committee, a former School Counselor and Social and Emotional Learning teacher, and is currently in private practice working with children, teens and families. Her daughter, Annie, is in her second year of college and grew up at Beth Am. She is fascinated with the intersection between Jewish wisdom and values and research-based psychology about children and families.
