1:00 PM - 2:30 PMZoom VideoconferenceMissed session I on Sunday, October 17? Watch the recording online.
Climate change is a hot topic, and not just because the planet is warming! We see the disastrous impact of excess greenhouse gases from the extremes of wildfires, hurricanes, droughts, floods, heat waves and habitat loss in the USA and around the world. It can seem overwhelming, and many of us may feel helpless. But our Jewish tradition asks us to take action, individually and together as a community, to ensure a sustainable planet. What can we do now to make a difference?
Our second session will be a guided conversation to educate and organize Beth Am families to organize for ongoing action on 3 levels:
- We will identify small ways to reduce our personal “carbon footprint”, starting now.
- We will discuss immediate opportunities to influence changes in local, state and national policies and community practices to create the system-wide changes to address our system-wide problems.
- We will ask for your ideas and enthusiasm to help form a Beth Am Dayenu Circle to sustain our momentum for powerful, positive changes for a healthy climate with a Jewish voice (We will tell you all about this at the session!)
We are excited to join together to address Climate Change as a Beth Am community, starting now!
