7:30 PM - 9:00 PMSocial Hall & Social Hall Patio*(Photo Above: Thanks to Beth Am's community support, members of our sister community in Odessa, Ukraine have powerful batteries to provide electricity and heat.)
After our Friday evening Shabbat service with guest speakers Alla and Daniel Anderson (who will be giving a presentation about Ukraine before the war compared with Ukraine of today), dine at a delicious community dinner prepared by the Poltava/Odessa Committee. Enjoy salmon with mango salsa, kugel, Fred’s challah and veggies, as well as fruit and other delicious desserts.
The full-scale invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022 is still raging. In reality, the War in Ukraine began in 2014 with the incursion and occupation of Crimea. According to Alla Anderson, a recent refugee from Ukraine and a member of the Poltava/Odesa Committee, life was challenging, but Ukraine was building toward improving the lives of their people by embracing democracy and technology while trying to stem corruption.
Cost is $36 per person. All proceeds from the dinners will support our sister congregations in Ukraine, Congregation Beth Am of Poltava and Shirat Ha-Yam of Odessa. To register for this dinner, please pay and complete the form below by Thursday, July 20. For more information, please contact Judy, (408) 374-8331.
*Outdoor seating will be available.
