Focus on Inclusion Month: Erev Shabbat Service With Speaker Stephanie Seeger

Friday, February 24, 2023 3 Adar 5783

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMSanctuary; betham.org/streaming

Stephanie grew up in Chicago and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in education. She began teaching in general education on the west side of Chicago in 1996 and continued teaching when she moved to California in 2001. She became interested in special education when her oldest son, Henry, started kindergarten and parents began asking for help with student and IEP support. After doing lots of research to answer those questions, Stephanie decided to get her degree in special education. She started working as a special day class teacher in Redwood City in 2017.

Stephanie and her family have been members of Beth Am since 2010, and in 2022, she joined the Beth Am education team as inclusion specialist. She lives in Menlo Park with her two boys, Emmett (13) and Henry (17), her mom and their two dogs.

This program is part of Beth Am's Focus on Inclusion Month, sponsored by INCLUDE Beth Am.

The Beth Am community gathers each Friday night at 6:15 PM to welcome Shabbat. Our worship services are musical, participatory and informal in spirit; they focus on helping us experience the spiritual renewal, peace, joy and sense of celebration that Shabbat can bring.

If you attend virtually, please join at betham.org/streaming or on our YouTube channel or on the Beth Am Facebook page, starting at 6:15 PM. You may follow along in our texts for the Erev (evening) Shabbat service using the online version of the Mishkan T'filah: A Reform Siddur.

To enhance your enjoyment of Shabbat, please visit betham.org/shabbatcorner (including "Social Stories" in the Resource Box to prepare children ahead of time for what to expect during the Shabbat service).
