California High School Ethnic Studies Curriculum: Why it Matters and What You Can Do

Monday, September 14, 2020 25 Elul 5780

7:00 PM - 8:30 PMZoom Videoconference

A draft California Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum (ESMC), released last summer, was widely criticized for fueling hatred and discrimination, having anti-Semitic bias, and including historic inaccuracies. The revised draft released this month is somewhat improved, but remains alarming for the Jewish community, for communities of color and our CA public schools overall. The ESMC Guiding Principles are the root of the problem, and must be revised.

Join this webinar to learn about the far-reaching consequences, why this is not a left or right issue and what you can do to help.

Michael Harris, MD, StandWithUs lay leader, and Elina Kaplan, grassroots coalition leader, will present with a Q&A session to follow.
