An Insider’s Analysis of Israel at 75 – Progress, Challenges and Opportunities

10:00 AM - 11:30 AMZoomBeth Am welcomes back Einat Wilf for a Zoom talk honoring the 75th anniversary of Israel’s independence and the birth of the modern state.
Dr. Wilf will be discussing Israel at 75, reviewing Israel’s amazing progress and accomplishments, including Start-Up Nation and the Abraham Accords. She will also analyze Israel's challenges, including an honest, balanced assessment of the current government and the durability of /risks to Israeli democracy. There will be plenty of time for a Q&A session.
Dr. Wilf is considered one of Israel’s most articulate representatives on the international stage. A progressive former member of the Knesset, she was a foreign policy advisor to Shimon Peres, participated in peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, taught at Georgetown University, and has authored seven books, explaining Israel’s complex issues with insight and clarity. Her latest book, We Should All Be Zionists, brings together her essays from the past four years on Israel, Zionism and the path to peace.
Dr. Wilf’s talk is co-sponsored by Beth Am’s Jewish and Israel Advocacy Committee (JIAC) and the Z3 Project of the Oshman Family JCC. Additional partners include Congregation Kol Emeth (Palo Alto), Congregation Beth David (Saratoga) and the Sonoma Israel Committee.
