Israel, The Reform Movement and the World Zionist Congress -- Get Involved!
Thursday, January 20, 2022 • 18 Sh'vat 5782
12:30 PM - 2:00 PMZoomAs Reform Jews, “We are part of an active, global network of Jews of all ages united by our love for Israel and our commitment to securing an Israel that fulfills the promise of its founding documents.” This is consistent with the statement, “In 2018 the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) became the first religious organization to formally adopt The Jerusalem Program, the official policy platform of the World Zionist Congress. Adopting the platform serves to identify the Reform Movement formally and explicitly as a Zionist Movement.” (URJ Website: Israel Engagement)
The URJ’s Israel Leadership Network (ILN) is seeking participants interested in joining an exciting new program that will enable you to enhance your knowledge of/love for Israel! The ILN, led by URJ Vice President for Israel & Reform Zionism & ARZA Executive Director Rabbi Josh Weinberg, provides a wonderful opportunity to join leaders from congregations around North America to share and to learn, use our resources more efficiently and to hear what is going on in our Movement in North America and in Israel. You will gain new ideas, skills and opportunities to enhance Israel programming here.
To register and participate in the first session on Thursday, January 20, 12:30 PM, please complete the registration form. During the first session, participants will meet Reform Movement representatives of national institutions who work to implement our values on a daily basis. Please join us! If you have any questions, please contact Beth Am congregant Alan Warshaw, also a URJ Israel Leadership Network member.
