Beyond LGBTQ Inclusion: Becoming Allies
Sunday, April 3, 2022 • 2 Nisan 5782
3:30 PM - 5:00 PMZoomIn February during our first session, we opened a conversation about LGBTQ awareness and inclusion here at Beth Am and in the wider Jewish world. Join for this follow-up workshop, which builds on the first and is aimed at brainstorming specific steps we can all take to become better allies to the LGBTQ community. The celebration of Trans Day of Visibility on March 31, and thinking ahead to Pride Month in June, can lead us to some important questions.
How do our biases around gender and sexual orientation impact LGBTQ individuals in our community? How does using pronouns properly make folks feel safe, seen, and welcome? What can we do to fight against homophobia, transphobia and more?
You do not need to have participated in the first session to take part in this one. A recording of the first session will become available in late February. To receive Zoom access details, please register by Friday, April 1, 2:00 PM using the form below.
Sponsored by the INCLUDE Beth Am team in conjunction with Keshet, an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ equality in the Jewish community.
This program is part of Beth Am's Focus on Inclusion Month in February.
