Philosophy Minyan: Are We What We Eat? Jews & Food

Wednesday, June 29, 2022 30 Sivan 5782

12:00 PM - 1:30 PMZoom Videoconference

This Month's Topic: Are We What We Eat? Jews & Food

In this session participants will explore the philosophy of food, going back as far as the Greeks, meeting some of the earliest Jewish food influencers, and exploring how what Jews eat continues to be a topic of great interest both within and beyond the Jewish community. From metaphysics to matzah balls, ethics and aesthetics, we will consider why food confounds philosophers while fascinating the inner Jewish foodie in each of us. All are invited as we nourish our minds by thinking together philosophically about food.

Join in this lunchtime series that explores topics at the intersection of philosophy, Jewish thought and contemporary issues. This is an interactive lunchtime discussion. For more information, please contact Shelley Hebert.
