2:30 PM - 4:00 PMNEW TIME! Zoom

NOTE: The start time for this event has been moved up from 3:30 to 2:30 PM on April 25.

Presented by Beth Am's Gesharim * & Chevra Kadisha **
With Beth Am's Cantor Shpall and Sinai Memorial Chapel's Director Sam Salkin and Counselor Cara Walden

Why and how does Jewish tradition encourage planning ahead for our own memorial rites? How do these plans benefit our loved ones? What options are available to us? How do we go about inquiring, if only for information? Join us for answers to these and any questions you may have regarding the cooperation between Beth Am clergy, our new Chevra Kadisha (burial society), and Sinai Memorial Chapel, the non-profit Jewish funeral chapel for Northern California.

Take this opportunity to hear from others about arrangements they've made, wish to make or wish to learn about.

***The public registration deadline for this event has now passed. Beth Am congregants may login to their ShulCloud accounts and complete the registration form below to receive Zoom access details.***

*Gesharim (Bridges) End of Life Care is a congregant-led initiative intended to build a support system for Beth Am members facing the end of life. Through films, speakers, conferences and workshops, Gesharim provides opportunities for learning, discussion and compassionate support.

**Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society): Beth Am bringing congregants together to form our congregation's burial society. Known in Hebrew as the Chevra Kadisha, the Burial Society gathers together soon after a person dies and takes on the holy mitzvah of ritually preparing the deceased for burial. The process known as Taharah includes washing, dressing and laying the body in the casket to be ready for burial.
