Beth Am Women Rosh Chodesh Kislev: The Women of Chanukah — Our Forgotten Heroines

Monday, November 28, 2022 4 Kislev 5783

7:30 PM - 9:15 PMZoom Videoconference (RSVP for access details)

The holiday of Chanukah falls at the end of the month of Kislev and the beginning of Tevet. Chanukah celebrates the brave deeds of the Maccabees, a small band of Jewish rebels (the priest Mattathias and his five sons), whose surprising victory over the Syrian Greeks allowed the Jews to rededicate the Temple in Jerusalem. (Chanukah means "rededication").

But there is another side to the story. Come usher in Kislev and learn about the heroic women behind the scenes whose bravery and heroism saved the day for the Jewish people, and explore the art that was inspired by their stories. All women welcome.

Please register using the form below or email Lisa (if you don't have login access) to receive the access information.
