Beth Am Women Rosh Chodesh: Av
Monday, August 5, 2024 • 1 Av 5784
7:30 PM - 9:15 PMZoomThe Magic of Hebrew Letters
With Cantor Jaime Shpall and Lisa Rauchwerger
The month of Av אב gets its name from the first 2 letters of the Hebrew alephabet, Alef and Bet. This month spans the spectrum of emotion, as we go from sadness, as we commemorate the 9th of Av (destruction of both Temples and many more tragedies) to rejoicing on the 15th of Av, when we celebrate many joyous events in Jewish history, (and celebrate at Beth Am with wine and chocolate).
Join to explore the magic of the Hebrew letters, learn a little of what each letter can teach us, and see how, in studying these magical mystical Hebrew letters, we can learn how journeying from Alef to Tav encompasses the entirety of Jewish wisdom. Come welcome in Av with us! All women-identifying folks welcome.
