Shemini Atzeret Festival / Yizkor Service
Tuesday, September 28, 2021 • 22 Tishrei 5782
9:30 AM - 11:30 AMOutdoor Chapel* & Livestream (betham.org/streaming); Followed by Brunch on the Social Hall PatioOn Shemini Atzeret, the concluding day of the festival of Sukkot, it is customary to recite yizkor (memorial prayers) in remembrance of our loved ones. The service includes Hallel (chanted psalms of praise) as well as Yizkor prayers of remembrance, and our clergy will read aloud the names of all those lost to our Beth Am family in the last year. We will also, on request, read the names of any others who are remembered by people present at the service. To have a loved one's name read at the service, please use the form below by 2:00 PM on Monday, September 27. Please email Kelsey with questions.
Everyone is also welcome to share this special time of remembrance virtually via livestream at betham.org/streaming. Also, please note that Beth Am's Book of Memory is digital this year. This book is a Beth Am tradition and a way of honoring relatives and friends who have died either in recent months or in past years. See the digital Book of Memory.
After the service, a light brunch will be served.
Please note that masks must be worn at all times (except when eating), and all those eligible (12 and over) must be vaccinated to attend in person. The service will be followed by brunch and good conversation.
Listen to / watch Heal Us Now sung by HaZamir teen choirs (40 of them worldwide).
