Oneg Israel Presents -- The Making of "Shtisel": A Jewish Odyssey

Shtisel, an enormously popular Israeli TV drama series, tells the story of a fictional Orthodox Haredi Jewish family living in the Geula neighborhood of present-day Jerusalem. The series is currently an international hit on Netflix. Watch the official trailer.

During this Oneg Israel presentation, we will be joined (virtually) by Shtisel co-creator Yehonatan Indursky who was raised in an Orthodox household in Jerusalem. After he completed a prestigious Yeshiva, he left his Orthodox family to lead a secular life in Tel Aviv. Indursky will speak about his Orthodox home, the inspiration for Shtisel, and how the series changed is relationship with with his home and the Orthodox community.
