
Oneg Israel Presents -- The Making of "Shtisel": A Jewish Odyssey

Shtisel, an enormously popular Israeli TV drama series, tells the story of a fictional Orthodox Haredi Jewish family living in the Geula neighborhood of present-day Jerusalem. The series is currently an international hit on Netflix. Watch the official trailer.
During this Oneg Israel presentation, we will be joined (virtually) by Shtisel co-creator Yehonatan Indursky who was raised in an Orthodox household in Jerusalem. After he completed a prestigious Yeshiva, he left his Orthodox family to lead a secular life in Tel Aviv. Indursky will speak about his Orthodox home, the inspiration for Shtisel, and how the series changed is relationship with his home and the Orthodox community.
