Erev Shabbat Service & Simchat Torah Celebration
Friday, October 6, 2023 • 21 Tishrei 5784
6:15 PM - 8:30 PMSanctuary* & Livestream at betham.org/streamingOn Simchat Torah, Jews around the world complete the reading of the Torah and begin anew with the first words of Genesis. Join us for a festive, holiday Shabbat service. We will unroll the Torah scroll around the Sanctuary, dance with the Torahs and honor our youngest learners as they celebrate their consecration with a special blessing on the bima.
At Beth Am, we mark the entrance of young children into Jewish education with a special ceremony called Consecration (meaning “dedication to a sacred purpose”). During the service, we will welcome our kindergartners and others beginning their Jewish education onto the bima to be blessed by our clergy in the presence of their families and the congregation. Please join us for this special moment!
During the Erev Shabbat service, our Zimriyah Jr. Choir will be singing.
*This service will be live video streamed. By entering the Sanctuary you give Beth Am permission to record you.
