Come for an hour or stay all night!
Join the local community for prayer, study and schmoozing until sunrise (or at least until your bedtime). The Tikkun Leil Shavuot ("repair of the night of Shavuot") is a Kabbalistic practice that began in the Middle Ages. According to legend, the Israelites overslept the morning they were to receive the Torah at Mt. Sinai, and Moses had to hurriedly wake them up! To avoid making that mistake again, we stay up all night on Erev Shavuot, studying and preparing to celebrate the giving of the Torah the next morning.
Join for an extraordinary night of Jewish learning with activities for all ages! There will be separate programming for adults and teens, kids (K-7th grade), and young families. And of course, blintzes!
Cosponsored by Congregation Kol Emeth, Congregation Beth Am, Congregation Etz Chayim and Congregation Keddem, together with Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School, Kehillah Jewish High School, and the Oshman Family JCC.
