Tisha B’Av: A Time for Reflection and Mourning for Communal Strife
Wednesday, July 26, 2023 • 8 Av 5783
7:00 PM - 8:00 PMBeit Kehillah* and LivestreamAccording to the Sages, the second Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed because of sinat chinam, baseless hatred within the Jewish community. As we observe Tisha B’Av, the day of mourning for the destruction of the Temples and other tragedies that have befallen the Jewish People, we will gather for a discussion of the ways hatred and division are currently affecting the Jewish community, both in Israel and closer to home. Following the discussion, there will be a short service, including chanting excerpts from the Book of Lamentations.
*This service will be livestreamed. By entering the Beit Kehillah, you give Beth Am permission to record you.
