- Beyond the Camera: A Conversation with Members of "Team Overduin" | 9:00 AM, Zoom (register using the form below for access links)
Join in conversation with three of the leaders behind "The Conscience of a City" and it's current journey. Meet filmmaker, Willy Berends, and hear the remarkable story of how he uncovered the hidden history of Enschede. Herbert Zwartz, one of the documentary's main subjects, whose story and survival are truly miraculous. Herbert is one of those who has brought the Overduin story of moral and valor to light. And last, Uri Elzur, the Overduin's North America current champion, who is working to get this important story into the hands of future generations and in countries where Jews and the Holocaust are widely unknown. This will be an opportunity to hear the backstory of this project, as well as ask questions and share your thoughts on the film. Click here to register for access to the film.
Team Overduin hopes to make this film available to communities around the world, especially those who have little access to information about the Holocaust and the Jewish people. While an English dubbed version has been created, we know that there are many more language versions needed. This work can only be done through support from you - please consider making a donation today. As a token of appreciation, we will send all contributors access to the English dubbed film. GoFundMe
- An Untold Story | 12:00 PM, Zoom (register using the form below for access links)
Kelly is the great-granddaughter of a couple who attended Pastor Overduin's church and helped hide a child during World War II. Menachem was that baby. Now, years later, the two will join us to share their stories. Join us in conversation with Kelly and Menachem, as they share their history of bravery and survival for the first time since the release of "The Conscience of a City." - A National Gathering Against Antisemitism | 5:00 PM, Zoom (register using the form below for access links) or Livestream
Join as we gather in prayer and thought for a moment of solidarity and strength. Featuring Rev. Kaloma Smith of University Church, join together with a national community gathering to speak out against hate and in favor of love and community. As Tisha B'Av draws to its close, we need one another to remind ourselves that as a community that goes beyond any one Synagogue, race or religion, we can and will overcome hate in all its terrible forms.
