Torah Study With Author-in-Residence, Abigail Pogrebin
Saturday, February 3, 2024 • 24 Sh'vat 5784
9:00 AM - 10:00 AMBeit Kehillah, Zoom or Livestreamed*Abigail is a passionate learner of Torah, having created the podcast “Parsha in Progress,” in which she and Rabbi Dov Linzer discussed the weekly Torah portion. Abigail will join a member of the Beth Am clergy for a discussion of the Torah portion, Yitro. Learn more about our weekend with Abby.
On Shabbat morning, join a member of the Beth Am clergy for Torah Study. We will focus on a thoughtful reading of the entire Torah, exploring the historical, ethical and spiritual questions raised by the text. We explore Torah on three levels: What meaning did it hold in its original ancient Near East setting? How have our sages and commentators understood the text over the centuries? What personal and communal meaning does it hold for us today? Every session offers learning, lively interchange and ample opportunity for questions and discussion. People of all levels and backgrounds are welcome, and Hebrew knowledge is not required.
- Livestream on the streaming page. The class goes live at 9:00 AM in the window marked "Beit Kehillah."
- Join by Zoom using the recurring link, which can be found in Links to this Week's Events (login required).
An archive of Torah Study audio recordings is available.
Virtual GOOD BOOK CAFÉ: The Beth Am Library has "opened" the Virtual Good Book Café held weekly after Torah Study.
*This session will be live video streamed. By entering the Beit Kehillah you give Beth Am permission to record you.
