Checking in on The Front Lines in Ukraine
Sunday, May 22, 2022 • 21 Iyar 5782
9:00 AM - 10:30 AMZoomHear from guest speaker Friedhelm Weinberg, Executive Director of HURIDOCS (Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems). HURIDOCS is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland that works at the intersection of technology and human rights. HURIDOCS helps grassroots organizations on the front lines capture, organize and analyze evidence of human rights violations, including war crimes, while keeping that information — and themselves — safe.
Mr. Weinberg will talk about HURIDOCS' emergency support to partners in Ukraine, and how systematic documentation of events will be critical to war crimes investigations and prosecution.
Thank you to Beth Am congregant Kristen Yawitz (a former staff member of HURIDOCS) for helping make this presentation possible.
