Beth Am Shared Identity Project

Our Shared Identity Project has recently moved into its second phase having conducted from the first phase more than 250 one-on-one conversations with congregants representing a most broad set of demographics. From the many Jewish journeys shared with our trained listeners, we have gleaned major themes and insights from which we now want to expand and focus our "dialogue" with all congregants in this full outreach effort.

In this second phase, we are launching a survey to ask what is most important to YOU and YOUR family’s needs for Jewish life and community. Your answers will help Beth Am build a better future for our congregation, and will define Beth Am's core value and strategic direction for years to come.

The survey window is from June 8-27, and even if you participated in a prior one-on-one conversation, we want all Beth Am members and those closely associated (anyone 13 years old and older) to take the survey. The survey has been carefully designed to provide respondents freedom to give voice to what really matters to them and to do so with the interest of time (expect a 10-minute time commitment).  As was the case with one-on-one conversations, all responses are anonymous.

Please participate in this critically vital and valuable feedback process and encourage your family and Beth Am friends to do so as well. With all your valued inputs, it will do much to make a difference for the future of Beth Am.

Thank you for your valuable inputs and support!

Next Steps in the Shared Identity Project:

  • Survey analyzed in early July
  • Initial findings presented at Board retreat on July 20
  • Discuss, refine, and present all conclusions at various sessions/meetings in September and October
  • Final report at the end of 2025

Please participate and help make a difference for the future of Beth Am. Thank you!
