Injustice Doesn't Take a Summer Vacation
Reproductive rights and abortion access are Jewish values. One way to show our support for women who choose to or need to have an abortion procedure is to send them a Post Abortion Care Kit via their medical provider. The kit includes comfort items, such as menstrual pads, tea bags, chocolate candy, and instant hot packs. The kits can also include handwritten notes showing our support for the patient and their healthcare provider.
On Sunday, August 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Social Hall, please join the Beth Am Reproductive Justice group and the National Council of Jewish Women – SF for our fifth Post-Abortion Care Kit event. Please register to participate and/or consider making a donation.
Save the Date: On Tuesday, September 16, please join Pursue Justice for a celebration of National Voter Registration Day and a postcard/ letter writing party. Refreshments and all supplies (including stamps) will be provided. The postcard writing will be non-partisan cards for Reclaim Our Vote (ROV). The letters will be for VoteRiders, providing voter ID assistance so that every American can cast a ballot that counts.
Please continue to call your reps to let them know what is important to you and that you are against the direct assault on the principles that underpin our democracy. Use the 5 Calls App to help you give feedback to your elected representatives. The free app is available from the App store or go to 5calls.org. First set your location so the app can find your Senators and Representative. Then pick the issue you would like to call about. The app gives you background info and a sample call script. It will also make the call for you. (It also has issues to call the Governor and Attorney General.)
Thank you all for your dedication toward saving our democracy and our reproductive rights.
