January 2022 Tzedakah Box

Beth Am's January Tzedakah Box supports the Jewish Family and Services (JFS) of Silicon Valley and it's Refugee Resettlement Program. The crisis in Afghanistan is no longer front and center in the media, yet the Afghans who escaped still feel the impact. JFS continues to welcome these new refugees to our community. In the past four months, JFS has resettled over 40 refugees with more than 200 expected this year. JFS (as the local HIAS affiliate) has been securing housing, connecting refugees to medical providers and schools, helping new refugees find jobs and providing mental health and advocacy support. Beth Am has a long tradition of working on refugee awareness and advocacy and is proud to support JFS's work in this area. Learn more about JFS' Refugee Resettlement Program.
