Welcoming Lauren Bohne as New Teen Education Program Director

Lauren comes to Beth Am with more than 15 years of experience in Jewish youth education and camping. She has worked in synagogues, JCCs, Jewish Day Schools, overnight camps, day camps and teen travel programs.

She began her career as a Youth Director in Long Island, New York and spent her summers as a member of the leadership team at various East Coast Jewish summer camps.

Later, Lauren became the Director of Teen Learning at a large congregation outside of Boston, MA. There she oversaw curriculum for 6-12th grade, social justice-based travel programs, youth groups and weekend retreats.

Ready for a change of climate, Lauren moved to the Bay Area to become the Camp & Youth Department Director at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael, CA. While there, Lauren oversaw the growth of their Jewish day camp, created a new afterschool program, and increased their year-round camp programing.

Lauren is originally from New York City.  She now lives in the East Bay with her husband, Jon. When she is not working, she and her husband love to take road trips across the United States to visit National Parks and see all the beauty this country has to offer.
