US National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism: An Evening With Ted Deutch, AJC CEO
Thursday, March 27, 2025 • 27 Adar 5785
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMdiscussion in the Sanctuary & livestreamed; 8:30-9:30 PM reception to follow in the Social HallWhat steps have been taken? What will the new administration do?
The Beth Am Jewish and Israel Advocacy Committee (JIAC) is pleased to welcome Ted Deutch, CEO of AJC and a respected former US Congressman. Following his presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Ted and continue the conversation at a reception in his honor in the Social Hall. This is a unique opportunity to see and meet Ted Deutch. The event is free, but advanced registration is required.
Ted will speak about the development and implementation of the first ever U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, and what its future might be. This blueprint was conceived and approved by the Biden administration, with significant input from AJC, among others. Learn the inside story about the initial actions taken by various branches of the national government as a result of The Strategy, and hear about the additional implementation ideas that Deutch’s AJC Task Force has been pursuing. Given the change in US President, will the Biden Strategy be at risk? Deutch is in a unique position to shed light on this, on antisemitism efforts nationally, and the policy shifts that may be in our future.
During his 12 years in Congress, Deutch chaired the US House Ethics Committee, was a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee where he chaired the Middle East Global Counterterrorism Subcommittee. He also was a co-founding chair of the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism and an outspoken critic of colleagues who promoted antisemitism and sought to undermine the security of Israel. Since becoming CEO of AJC two years ago, Deutch has been a vigorous advocate of Israel and a strategic player in the fight against antisemitism in the US and around the globe.
